Islander

Vance Islander was born in Fairfield but has lived in Half Moon Bay his whole life. He is currently attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo pursuing a BS in Business Management and has an interest concentrating in Financial Management.

Vance works as a California State Parks Lifeguard seasonally and is an Eagle Scout. He is committed to bettering his community and helping others through his experience and leadership abilities. Vance was also captain of his Water Polo Team and received the “Show up and Be Kind” award—named in honor of lifetime friend Malcolm Feix—for his friendly attitude and ability to help others.

In his free time Vance can be found at the beach surfing with friends or exercising at the gym. Vance often trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing, and loves to read. His favorite books include Lord of the Rings and Meditations.
