Teffaney is an east coast native with a passion for learning who has lived in Half Moon Bay for more than 20 years. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors in Biology and a Masters of Teaching. Her masters thesis titled Student Self Assessment in a Science Classroom, focused on learning through writing within the science disciplines.

She has taught Science at the Middle and High School Levels, as well as worked as a University Supervisor in the SJSU teacher education program. She has also worked as Applications Software Developer for Stanford University’s Highwire Press and a CGI programmer for USP. She is invested in the education of the youth of the Coastside. She has two children who have attended Cabrillo Unified schools for elementary, middle and high school. She has served on multiple parent boards and CUSD committees over the years, and was a girl scout leader for both of her daughter’s troops.

In her free time she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking and sailing. You can find her planting seeds in her backyard, walking on the coastside, visiting farmers markets, experimenting with her daughters in the kitchen, sailing with her family in the San Francisco Bay, and curled up with her cat Spartacus and a good book.
