Lisa Chu has been a Coastside resident since 2012. She has contributed to the community as a musician and visual artist, both as an organizer and performer in many local events.
Lisa, whose first job was as a violin teacher at age 12, is excited to return to working with young people after several years exploring the role of arts in healing and transformation in adult populations.
Lisa’s background includes founding and running her own violin school in Palo Alto for 6 years, working as a creativity coach for adults, and a brief stint as a venture-capital investor. She is currently writing and performing an autobiographical solo theater show in various San Francisco venues.
Lisa, born and raised in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, earned an A.B. magna cum laude in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University and an M.D. from University of Michigan Medical School. She loves hiking, biking, cooking, and making art every day.
