Ellen Harding | Academic Coach
Over the last twenty years, Ellen has worked as an English teacher and tutor in a variety of settings with K-12 students and undergraduates. She earned her M.F.A. in English/Writing from Mills College, where she received the Ardella Mills Prize in graduate composition in 2001, and her B.A. in American Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1994.
Ellen loves following students through their own process and helping them to develop a stronger sense of voice, build better writing habits, and create a working set of tools they can use going forward. It’s often in the thick of a very difficult revision that students have the opportunity to develop persistence and endurance—qualities that are essential to becoming better writers, as well as solid life-long learners—and it is often in that space of moving from mind to paper, that students discover their own brilliance.
Ellen is available to tutor English/writing and SAT/ACT prep. When she’s not tutoring, you can find her hiking the coast with her dog Hal or working on the next chapter of her novel.
