English, Math (up to Algebra I), Writing | Elementary–Middle School

Selina is a recent graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. She spent two years at the College of San Mateo, and, before that, she went through the Cabrillo school system on the Coastside. Her family moved to California from Germany when she was young so she was raised in a bilingual household.

She has been working with children for over a decade, acting as an academic coach, a teacher, an after school HEAL program leader, a volunteer reading-tutor, and a nanny. Having been through tutoring herself many times over the years, Selina has personal experience in understanding how to convey information from teacher/tutor to student in a way that doesn’t leave them feeling even more confused than before the session. Selina believes that as a tutor, one can make a lifelong impact on a student by not only helping them develop and strengthen core skills, but to also be an advocate and a strong role model for the student.

Outside of academic coaching, Selina is making the jump into the corporate business world. This past summer she interned with a leading global Accounting firm and before that, she was a Tax Office Manager and an Administrative Tax Assistant for a local Accounting firm.

In her free time Selina enjoys painting, cooking, gardening, hiking, and spending time with loved ones and her kitties.
