Emily Tucker is a Coastside native who has lived, worked and studied on the Mid-Coast for the majority of her life. Emily graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a BS in Marine Biology and various professional diving certifications. Following her undergraduate studies she worked in the area as an intertidal and riverine field technician for UCSC and NOAA/NMFS putting her education and passion for the environment to good use. She has recently returned from Duke University with a Masters degree in Environmental Management.
Emily is incredibly grateful for all the fantastic mentors she has had over the years and the people who supported her in pursuing her passions. She is absolutely thrilled to now have the opportunity to give back to her community with Main Street Scholars and looks forward to passing along an enthusiasm for learning to the next generation. In her free time Emily can be found hiking local trails, backpacking in the Sierras, surfing down in Santa Cruz, or puttering in the kitchen (sourdough bread and baking are her specialties!)
